Ratnavali Suite

Beautifully designed, these spacious artistic suites with unique interiors; design are a delight for the avid traveler. The creative floorplan expands over 700 plus square feet (over 65 sq. meters) of space. They are largely a combination of a sitting room and a bedroom, and can very comfortably accommodate more than two. Its truly a home away from home feel in these suites with handpicked tapestry and upholstery with attention to every detail for your comfort.


This suite is named after my great grandmother known for her beauty, richness in arts and music and humanitarian work. Located on the south west of the property, this suite on the ground floor opens to the courtyard. It accommodates a king-size or twin bed. It holds two separate rooms, both with huge French windows, one bathroom with a shower and another bathroom with a claw foot tub. The warm sitting can accommodate extra occupants in its sofa cum bed. It’s unbelievable how this suite resembles the grandeur of a studio apartment.

Devinder Chand Mehra, my grandfather, stood at a strapping 6feet 1inch and he went by the affectionate moniker of Tiny Mehra. Known for his joie de vivre he was a noted gourmand and he loved hosting family and friends at his table. Located on the first floor the Dev Chand suite is charmed by its four-post antique bed and claw foot bathtub in its artistically tiled bathroom. The over 700 square feet suite opens out to a private balcony overlooking the courtyard with bright east facing view. This suite is ideal for a romantic getaway.

Family Ratnavali Suite

This suite is named after Raja Singh, whose ancestors hailed from Peshawar and he had Misls in Amritsar. Located on the first floor measuring over 700 square feet, it’s a wonderful suite with its own intricacies and quirkiness. This suite has a very creatively designed sitting room and a large bedroom consisting of two queen sized beds. Its windows provide a view to the sunset rays. Step up to its large washroom with a golden carved mirror and table, enjoy the claw foot bathtub and separate shower.

This is ideal for a family of 2-4 people.


Double Ratnavali Suite

This suite is named after my grandfather’s younger brother who was a prince of sorts but tragically died in a shooting accident at an adulthood age. Located on the first floor with a view of the courtyard from its restored traditional style bedroom windows, this suite measures over 700 square feet. Its cozy hand-baked bedroom flooring, restored almirah and a stone and wood basin counter in the bathroom all add character to its spacious layout.

Triple Ratnavali Suite

This suite is named after our great great great grandfather. He was the Sarvarah of the Golden temple form 1860-1875. Located on the first floor measuring over 700 square feet, it opens out to the central courtyard. Enter this suites blue and white foyer leading towards its private bedroom and a den styled sitting room with a single bed. The bathroom has a hidden shower and large washbasin counter.

Triple Ratnavali Suite

This suite is named after my great grandfather who was pioneer in development of the City of Amritsar outside the walled city and an Honorary Magistrate who was honored with the Order of the British Empire title for his humanitarian work. Located on the first floor by the southwest, this suite measures over 800 square feet symbolizing the epitome in space, luxury and comfort. A soothing common lounge with a brick-faced wall overlooking the courtyard, adorned by the art work of Vishal Chand Mehra, leads into your beautifully designed suite. The extra king size bed sits atop wooden handcrafted claws wrapped around river-grass mat, reflecting the creativity of Rama Ranjit Mehra. The day room with large French windows, hand baked terracotta flooring and pin stripped ceiling all add character and warmth to the suite. The hand-crafted wooden washbasin counter is one of a kind in this bathroom that offers a shower and tub, both.

This suite is named after my great great grandmother, she was a strong-willed devoted mother of 8 and a support to her husband in his business, social and humanitarian efforts during the British Raj. Located on the first floor in the south east corner, measuring over 700 square feet, this suite overlooks the beautiful lawn jeweled with various fruit trees and flowers. Set apart offering privacy, its Vaastu colored red suite is bright and open with a comfortable sitting and adjacent bedroom Awaiting your company the suite hangs an antique carpet made of camels wool. This is ideal for a family of 2-3 people.
